Workshop Description

If you were to go homeless, how would you survive?  What would you include in your backpack? What would you keep and what would you need to leave behind?  Where would you eat and how can you make sure you get nutritional balance?  How would you make friends?

We will teach participants what is involved in homelessness for a deeper understanding of this marginalized and misunderstood population.

  1. I have realized that the homeless community is a lot different than anyone ever really thinks it is. I want to learn to help the young homeless community at my school with sleeping. I can’t imagine going to school and not having a set place to live.

  2. I didn’t realize how many issues there are within the homeless community. I think that the homeless aren’t discussed enough, yet it is one of the most relevant diversity issues in Colorado.

  3. I thought this was very impactful from an empathy perspective.

  4. Really opened my eyes to see how crucial it is to be resourceful and prepared for any chances of being homelessness.
